The History of KONORD Factory
The history of our enterprise has begun more than 50 years ago — in 1947, when at the place of today’s KONORD has been put into operation a Factory on repair of road technics. Specialists of a Factory have successfully mastered the repair of practically all models of road, agricultural and building technics.
In 1974 the factory on repair of road technics has joined the production association «Rostselmash» and was renamed into the Rostov Factory of Not standardized Equipment. It was the beginning of the new era in development of the enterprise: the factory was reorientated to output for «Rostselmash».
Many workshops of «Rostselmash» were completed with the equipment made at our Factory. Enterprise was producing the special technological equipment, designed for modernisation of separate manufactures of the harvesters-producing giant: foundry, machine-tool construction, dye, conveyor.
1979 became the start of developing a new direction in activity of the organization — the Factory started to make the heating equipment — the boilers, capable to work on various kinds of the fuel, used both for heating and hot water-supply. Was developed the construction and mastered the mass production of the first model of household heating boiler DON-16. At that times the factory was one of the first in the USSR, which have started producing of the heating equipment of new generation.
Trying to satisfy wishes of all consumers, experts of a Factory developed new models of household heating boilers. These boilers were produced under the trade mark «Don» and have won popularity thanks to simplicity and reliability of a construction.
In 1992 the Rostov Factory of Not Standardized Equipment was renamed into a factory «KONORD» of «Rostselmash».
In 1997 the assortment of household heating boilers which were offered by the factory, has been expanded to 7 models.
In 1998 a factory «KONORD» of «Rostselmash» was renamed into KONORD Factory PLC.
In 1999 the enterprise entered into a market with three models of heating boilers of the average power, designed for heating of big housing complexes and industrial buildings.
In 2001 KONORD Factory joined the finance-industrial holding «New Commonwealth», which has united the Rostov factories «Rostselmash» and «Empils». Gradually the direction of household heating boilers has turned from auxiliary to main. Were started investment projects on development and release of the new kinds of production, demanded by the market.
In March, 2001 the complex of marketing actions on increase of stability of a financial position and successful development of the enterprise was developed and successfully realized at the Factory .
For more effective promotion and realization of production, in August, 1st, 2001 has been created the Trading House «KONORD», which structure included Sales and Marketing Departments.
Significant investments were put into development of the new competitive goods, which should surpass existing on exploitation properties and, what is more important, to be cheaper and then more accessible to consumers.
In 2002 was mastered the manufacture of the first model of gas boilers KONORD.
Since 2003 to 2005 KONORD line has been expanded to 19 models. For 25 years KONORD Factory has produced more than 800 000 boilers «DON» with power from 16 up to 100 kw.
In June, 2004 on the basis of the Trading House of KONORD Factory has been created the Department of Service on guarantee repair of household boilers and sale of spare parts.
